Serving children from 6 weeks through Pre-K, the Mead Early Learning Center childcare is also unique in building a seamless path from infant and toddler into the school years - a path filled with love, joy, and fun, and always attentive to each child's development. Our developmentally appropriate approach to early childhood care and education focuses on the whole child. Not beholden to any one philosophy, we bring together the most meaningful elements of many methods. Our emergent curriculum is play-based, hands-on and socially interactive. From our youngest infant to our oldest Pre-K student, we understand that each child develops at his or her own unique pace and we work to create an environment that addresses each child’s emotional, social and intellectual needs.

Infant Child Care

The Mead School Infant Center (6 wks+) is the perfect loving, safe, and fun environment for your baby to relax, explore, and experience.

Toddler Child Care

Explorers! We provide toddlers (1 yr+) both the stimulation they seek, and the calm, nurturing routines they need.

Preschool 3 yrs+

Our Pre-School is a gentle transition into school-readiness, combining fun and learning with plenty of time for naps and snuggles.

Pre-K 4 yrs+

As the transitional year between Early Learning and Elementary School Pre-K at Mead makes the road into school fun, easy, and exciting!

Robyn's commitment to Mead has been life-long, as her entire career has been at Mead! Robyn studied Psychology with a concentration in Human Development and Family Relations at UCONN, and started her teaching work at Mead with Infants and Toddlers. After 6 years, Robyn moved into Administration as the Director of Child Care. In 2020, Robyn was promoted to Assistant Head of School for Early Learning, and she has played a critical role as Co-Chair of Mead's Reopening Committee. Robyn ensures that Mead's Early Learning program follows essential mitigation strategies in an ever-changing climate of state, local, and federal guidelines.
