Employment at The Mead School

The Mead School is an independent, progressive school serving children from infancy through Grade 8 on a 13-acre wooded campus in North Stamford, Connecticut. For more than 50 years, Mead has challenged conventional approaches to education, creating a learning environment where children are known as individuals, curiosity drives exploration, and academic, social, and emotional development are equally valued.

Our approach to education is rooted in the belief that children learn best when they are actively engaged in the process. Through inquiry, collaboration, meaningful relationships, and appropriately challenging academic experiences, we help students develop the confidence, independence, and critical thinking skills to become capable, lifelong learners.

We seek faculty and staff who are passionate about working with children, bring expertise and creativity to their work, and embrace the collaborative nature of a progressive school.
