Outdoor Learning

We have always valued the importance of outdoor experiences for students.

And, like most schools, we have chosen to do even more of our learning outside since the global pandemic began.  What makes Mead different, however, is how, what, and how much we do outside.  Toss on some layers and join the tour of outdoor learning.

Whether a science lesson on reptiles, music class jam session, drama in the amphitheater, chess club in the quad, or reading under trees, our staff and students embrace time outside and the curiosity it fuels.

Mead in action: Wide Open Wednesdays

Held outdoors, the Mead "Wide Open Wednesdays" schedule includes Student Independent Projects, STEAM team challenges, academic club electives, LAB periods, and whole school ‘nature lunch’ and ‘outdoor explore.'
