Developmentally Tailored Experiences that Grow with Your Child

Our developmentally appropriate approach to early childhood care and education focuses on the whole child. Not beholden to any one philosophy, we bring together the most meaningful elements of many methods. Our emergent curriculum is play-based, hands-on and socially interactive. From our youngest infant to our oldest Preschool student, we understand that each child develops at his or her own unique pace and we work to create an environment that addresses each child’s emotional, social and intellectual needs.

Schedules and Flexibility that Parents Need

All of the Early Learning classrooms (Infants through Preschool) offer hours of 6:30am-5:30pm so working parents can rest assured that we are available and ready to provide the loving home away from home they seek.

Tuition is available on our Affording Mead Page. Tuition listed represents 42 weeks of enrollment, or September - June. Up to 8 weeks of additional summer enrollment can be added, as needed, at the 23-24 school year rate of $135.48 per day.

Infant Child Care

The Mead School Infant Center (6 wks+) is the perfect loving, safe, and fun environment for your baby to relax, explore, and experience.

Toddler Child Care

Explorers! We provide toddlers (1 yr+) both the stimulation they seek, and the calm, nurturing routines they need.

Preschool

Our Pre-School is a gentle transition into school-readiness, combining fun and learning with plenty of time for naps and snuggles.

Robyn's commitment to Mead has been life-long, as her entire career has been at Mead! Robyn studied Psychology with a concentration in Human Development and Family Relations at UCONN, and started her teaching work at Mead with Infants and Toddlers. After 6 years, Robyn moved into Administration as the Director of Child Care. In 2020, Robyn was promoted to Assistant Head of School for Early Learning, and she has played a critical role as Co-Chair of Mead's Reopening Committee. Robyn ensures that Mead's Early Learning program follows essential mitigation strategies in an ever-changing climate of state, local, and federal guidelines.

Susan Barak

Susan has been working with young children
since 1995.

Susan came to Mead from the YMCA where she worked from 2000-2021 as Childcare Director, Administrator, and Assistant Development Director. Before joining the staff of the Y, Susan was employed by Beth Israel Medical Center as a Child Life Specialist; she worked with children infants- 21 years old with brain and spinal injuries. Susan also spent five years with the JCC on the Hudson in their childcare programs. Susan has her Bachelors of Social Work from Ramapo College and an Associate’s Degree in Social Science from Westchester Community College.
