How do we cultivate collaboration?

At Mead, learning is doing, and project-based work is often done in pairs and teams.

Faculty build deep relationships with students, modeling and scaffolding collaboration.  And students are given the opportunity and tools to reflect on how they work and play with others, nurturing the development of robust interpersonal skills.

  • Group learning projects facilitate intense student collaboration
  • Small classes forge close friendships and deep knowledge and support by teacher
  • Multi-age home centers allow for leadership of and learning opportunities with peers
  • Electives allow students to partner with peers in areas of mutual interest
Because questioning the answer is as important as answering the question.
