Obstacle Course Challenge Gets Students Outside and Moving
It is so important for students to be as active as possible while away from school. Even a short break from sitting, by doing 3-5 minutes of physical movement, such as walking or stretching, will help ease muscle strain, relieve mental tension and improve blood circulation and muscle activity.
Frank Pollifrone, Physical Development Curriculum Director, has been providing activities for students to keep moving while at home. Anyone who has had a view of the gym from the top of the main Mead stairway knows that Frank is the mastermind of THE best obstacle courses!
This week, Frank challenged his 3rd-5th grade students to design obstacle courses and submit videos to him of their creations. This multi-purpose challenge allowed students to get outside, get creative and get moving.
