3rd-8th Grades Field Trip to The Ashokan Center

Last week our students and staff in grades 3 through 8 traveled to The Catskills to spend three days and two nights at The Ashokan Center, an outdoor education facility that "inspires learning and building community through shared experiences in nature, music, history, and art." At Mead, we believe these experiences are essential parts of our curriculum, building emotional, physical and often cognitive resilience. 

The group enjoyed several outdoor winter activities throughout their stay. Led by Ashokan staff, students participated in archery, blacksmithing, music and dance, hiking, and more.
