Sixth Grade Students Open Immigrant Museum
A grand opening of the sixth grade Immigrant Museum took place at Mead on June 4th, with impressive visual displays of immigration stories - a culmination of each student's social studies research project.
Each student researched and wrote a paper documenting an ancestor's immigration story and beautifully presented them with photographs, maps, flags, ship manifests, and even physical artifacts. We were taken on a fascinating journey through time, discovering what the ancestors' lives were like in their countries of origin before coming to America, and learned a piece of each student's family story.
