Origami and Asian Culture Club
Students in grades 6, 7 & 8 have been busy in their second trimester clubs. Led by Nancy Seeds, Curriculum Director of Mathematics, the Origami and Asian Culture Club is made up of five enthusiastic folders who are interested in mastering origami techniques as they also learn about other cultural perspectives from the Far East.
The students' current interests include Japanese conversational phrases and writing, chopstick use, and how to make certain traditional models. Nancy has been inspired and motivated to have the students understand folding diagrams and origami bases so that they can become independent learners and lifelong origami fans!
