Dear ELC Families,
We hope this message finds you and your family well. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement over these past few days. Our decision to close was not an easy one and we greatly appreciate your taking the time to reach out. We continue to actively monitor the COVID-19 outbreak and before we can fully assess our ability to re-open, we need your help, and ask you to complete a critical survey referenced below by 9am tomorrow.
We are hoping to re-open the ELC as soon as we possibly and safely can from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. When we do, Mead will be implementing the following guidelines:
- Children and staff who are sick, immuno-compromised, or fall into the "high risk" category are to remain at home. If you are uncertain whether your child falls into one of these categories, please check with your child's physician. (Signs of immunodeficiency can include frequent upper respiratory, pneumonia, bronchitis, sinus, ear, or skin infections.)
- If you or anyone in your household is sick or has any cold, flu or intestinal symptoms, we ask that you keep your child at home until that person is symptom free.
- Children and staff MUST be SYMPTOM-FREE for 48 hours to be in attendance. We need you to be vigilant on this.
- Students presenting with cold, flu or intestinal symptoms during program hours will be removed from their center and are expected to be picked up within 90 minutes of the family being notified.
- Please only use the ELC entrance when entering and exiting the building.
- Children and staff MUST have their temperatures taken BEFORE entering the building by a Mead staff member. Anyone presenting with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher may not be in attendance and will be asked to go back home. We will continue to monitor students and staff throughout the day.
- Parents/guardians are expected to wash their hands and their child's hands BEFORE entering their classroom. Please use the sinks located in the ELC hallway or the appropriate lavatory located in the Pre-K hallway.
- All previous communications regarding travel are still in effect.
In order for us to determine the best course of action, we want to understand your needs. Please respond to the Survey Monkey ELC Need Assessment Form no later than 9:00 am Thursday (tomorrow) morning: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/L2G6V7K. Our decision to re-open depends on your participation in this survey. We need an absolute head count to determine our ability to open. Depending on your responses, we may need to redistribute staff or wait to re-open.
Thank you for making this survey a priority.
Our sincere and kind regards,
Robyn and Stephanie
