We want to thank you all for your thoughts, well wishes and support as we navigate the chaos and concern created by COVID-19. Staff and families continue to keep us well informed and we are grateful for all of the communication.
On Friday and over the weekend, the school rugs and carpets were deep-cleaned, and floors, surfaces, toys and materials throughout the entire building were also sanitized and disinfected. We are opting to keep the school closed tomorrow, Monday March 16th to give our school a chance to breathe. No one is to enter the building until Tuesday, March 17th, at the earliest.
In addition, a few of our adult community members have checked in to advise that they are presenting with one or more of the following: fever, sore throat, cold-like symptoms and fatigue. They have been in contact with their healthcare practitioners and are being monitored. Additionally, we have a few community members who fall into the "at risk" category and have been advised by their doctors to remain at home for the time being. We will continue to monitor the situation tomorrow, while we make all necessary arrangements to re-open as soon as possible. We will be back in touch as soon as we have an update to share.
In the meantime, we want you to know that we have amended our illness policy. Typically, students with a cold or runny nose are permitted to attend the program, providing they have no other defining symptoms. At this point, should your child be diagnosed with any particular illness or present with cold, flu or intestinal symptoms, we ask that you keep them at home until they are fever free for a period of 72 hours, without the aid of a fever reducer, and are symptom free.
We've found that the sharing of resources has been helpful to all of us during this challenging time. Enclosed HERE is a list of activities shared with us last week to help entertain and occupy children, ages 1-4, while at home.
Thank you, everyone, for your support and careful attention as we work through these crucial decisions. Please continue to keep us informed with any updates as they relate to your family's health.
Our sincere and kind regards,
Robyn & Stephanie
