Marine Science - First Trip to Cove Beach Mon., 9/20

Clothing

Please check the weather forecast for Mondays to help your child choose the right clothing to wear for comfort and safety. Trips will take place if there is light rain, so a raincoat would be needed for lightly rainy days. 

Footwear

These trips often require students to wade in the water. Flip flops and Crocs are not allowed, as they do not provide sufficient foot support for climbing on slippery rocks or protection from broken shells, etc. Children are not allowed to go barefoot.

Good choices include water-resistant “beach shoes” (such as Teva-type sandals or water shoes), an old pair of sneakers that still fit, or tall rain boots. Good sneakers should not be worn since they are likely to get muddy and salty. 

Lunch

The class will depart for Cove at the start of lunch every Monday. Students will be eating on the bus during the drive down to the beach, so easy-to-eat foods that can be held in the hand will be good choices. Please do not provide lunches that need to be microwaved.
