After School Program

Our After School Program is available to children in Grades K - 8. We offer staff-based curriculum and sports-based activities covering a wide variety of subjects by both Mead faculty and outside vendors. Programs run throughout the year and change seasonally.

Winter 2018 Activities

Mondays - Improv with Joy Lenters (Grades 6-8)

Acting in the box….outside of the box!! Improv scenes and games will open up your acting genius.


-6 Weeks: 1/22-3/5 (no class 2/19)

Tuesdays - Cooking with Adam Ellyson (Grades 2-8)

Students will learn the basic techniques of preparing and cooking food. Each week will focus on a new cuisine and cooking style, with samples going home to be shared. Menus focus on easy-to-find ingredients and time-saving steps. Participants leave the class with recipes and a knowledge that will last a lifetime. Chef Adam has years of experience from burger grills, to catering, to his own curiosity and love of food.

Thursdays - Movie Making 101 with Darleen Hickok (Grades K-5)

Have you ever wanted to make your own movie? You can learn how! Brainstorm Ideas, create a storyboard, shoot your film, learn how to edit it, add music and share it with the community!


-7 Weeks: 1/18-3/8 (no class 2/15)

Fridays - Basketball Fundamentals with Frank Pollifrone (Grades 2-8)

In this program players will learn the basic fundamentals of playing the sport of basketball. Whether you're on the Mead Basketball team and want to improve skills, in a local rec league or want to improve confidence, this is the program for you. Experienced students will be challenged, as well - designed to support all different skill levels.
