Pre-K Students Tend The Garden

Students, parents and faculty have taken turns tending the garden this spring under the supervision and guidance of Chris Mutolo and the Pre-K students, who take great pride in watching the seeds they planted a few weeks ago take root and grow.

Since the weather has been so warm, the newly sprouting plants have needed more water and the children all take turns using the wand or watering can to ensure proper irrigation. In addition, Pre-K students finished planting okra, peppers, and tomatoes, and Chris introduced how to use an inoculant to the children. They used mycorrhiza to aid in root production during their transplanting and they hope to go down into the forest on the school property and collect IMO-indigenous micro organisms next week.
