The students and faculty of the K-1-2 cohort had a fun and busy day on Friday celebrating Halloween together. Leading the way with art, students made ghosts with Art Director, Adam Ellyson, always the creative "spirit" of the group! A special virtual visit from a parent, who read Creepy Pair of Underwear by Aaron Reynolds, rounded out the morning.
Frank Pollifrone, our ever-ready PD Director, led a scavenger hunt outside with the end prize dangling from a tree. Patient, cooperative play was engaged when the students tried to release it, but it got stuck! The kids were very patient as they figured out how to get the goodie bags down from 50 feet in the air!
Jaleesa Ramirez, Math Curriculum Director, Stacey Mink, Home Center Director, and KK Mink, Curriculum Director, planned some creative and entertaining, yet curriculum-appropriate Halloween-themed classwork including writing Spooky Stories and doing Halloween math! The group watched a movie (Spookly the Square Pumpkin), drank hot cocoa, and ate popcorn!
At the end of the day, they all dressed in costumes, handed out goodies, and prepared for dismissal! It was an epic day, full of lots of laughter and celebration.
