Our alumni consistently return to our community to participate in school events such as Light & Life and Spring Fling and volunteer to act as chaperones for our school trips.

This excerpted paragraph comes from one of our alumni's high school junior year essays
My childhood at Mead was unlike any other. Because of such an extremely unusual experience, I often feel confused and ignorant, as though I am only an infant, recently born into a strange and overwhelming world. I also feel wise and unique, centered by a deep, underlying respect for myself and others. I will always regard my experience at Mead as the foundation for my most valuable strengths. The place which not only allowed, but encouraged me to always be true to who I am. Now I am a teenager who has been spared the long, tiresome quest of searching for myself. Because of Mead, I never allowed my true self to wander; it has always been right by my side. Instead, my challenge is to learn how to be me in a new and unfamiliar world. I know that I will find a way somehow...All I need is time.
