Mead held its 14th annual Multicultural Fair last weekend. Our diverse community was celebrated through delicious food, fun crafts and displays created by the students. Attendees enjoyed activities including oragami, button making, face painting, hair braiding, and henna tattoos.
In the final hour, the Sixth Grade Junior Company art group unveiled a collaborative mural dedicated to Helen Keller. Following the debut, attendees seated themselves in the theater for a performance of "We Are The World" by the diversity club. Finally, professional dancer Tava explained and performed different dances from around the world culminating in a student dance party!
Special thanks to Aneceia Forbes, Director of Diversity and Early Learning Coordinator for organizing the event, as well as Trenda Henna, Kaleidoscope Art & Entertainment, Bellydance by Tava, and all of the members of the Mead community who participated in the day.
