In celebration of National Poetry Month (April), it is a Mead tradition for students to showcase their work through the "Clothesline Poetry Project". The project begins in Language Arts classes where students work to write a poem on a subject they feel connected to. Once the poems are written, students glue them to construction paper and decorate them. Some students choose to read their poems aloud during the final sharing assembly of the month before pinning the poems on a clothesline hung on the main staircase. Any Mead community member (including you!) is welcome to hang a poem on the line using a clothespin.
